Medac urgent care clinics in North Carolina will be owned and operated by HCA Healthcare on June 1, 2026 .
Beginning June 1, 2026, Medac urgent care will join the same trusted urgent care network owned and operated by HCA Healthcare, which includes HCA CareNow urgent care and CareNow® urgent care.
Medac urgent care will continue to operate under its existing name.
Here are answers to questions you may have about the change.
Is the name changing?
No. Medac urgent care will continue operating under its existing name.
Why might I see CareNow® or HCA Heathcare’s name on the communications I receive and other information on the website?
Medac locations still operate under their existing name but are now leveraging much of the technology and resources that CareNow uses to better serve our patients.
How are Medac urgent care and other urgent care clinics connected?
Owned and operated by HCA Healthcare, Medac urgent care is part of a broader network that includes HCA CareNow urgent care and CareNow® urgent care. You can expect the same convenient, compassionate care you’ve relied on from Medac urgent care – plus expanded access to HCA Healthcare’s resources.
Are all Medac urgent care locations staying open?
All existing Medac urgent care clinics that were open prior to June 1, 2026 will remain open and ready to care for you. You can expect high-quality healthcare regardless of the location you choose. Find a location near you.
Are you changing your hours?
Not at this time. We will continue operating during the same hours as before the transition.
Are the medical providers and other staff the same?
While you may see some new faces over time, many providers and care teams will remain the same.
How do I access my medical records?
If you were seen after May 31, 2026, you can access your health history through the MyHealthONE patient portal. If you would like a copy of your medical records, you must fill out a medical release authorization form. Please visit our website for more information and to access the form.
If your visit was on or before May 31, 2026, and you have questions regarding your medical records please visit https://bhsconnect.net/medac/.
Can you send my primary care physician information about my clinic visits?
Yes. Please provide your primary care physician’s name and contact information at the time of your visit.
Are your services changing?
We will continue to offer many of the same urgent care services and occupational medicine services for businesses, from employment screenings to treatment of on-the-job injuries.
If you have questions regarding your care and need to be seen by a provider, please visit one of our clinics. You can save your place in line by using our convenient Web Check-In® tool. We look forward to caring for you in our clinics.
Do you still take my insurance?
We accept most major insurance plans, including Medicare and Medicaid in many markets. Coverage may vary, so we recommend checking with your insurance provider for details.
Can I still check in online?
Yes. HCA CareNow urgent care offers Web Check-In® so you can wait from anywhere. You can use Web Check-In® to save your spot in line or let us know when you’re coming, and we’ll notify you when it’s time for your visit.
How can I know my estimated wait time?
Web Check-In® allows you to check in and wait from anywhere and minimize your time in the lobby. We will notify you when to come in based on current wait times.
Can I just walk in?
Of course. Walk-ins are always welcome.
